Winter stays a l--o--n--g time up here. Even when the weather warms, the swings from warmish to arctic are whipsaw so one doesn't really know which season to dress for. At least the calendar says it's spring....

Yep - that's the expression (followed of course by sadface).
OH CANADA....a person I know who lives in Australia keeps saying things like "what humans could have ever imagined settling up in the cold north?"...and its like, well, people may not have been thinking that but it IS a good point!
